Who we are

The Birdie Initiative was established in 2025 as a fundraising golf tournament to support and raise awareness for traumatic brain injury.

In January 2025 Brian (our VP) was struck by a car as a pedestrian while walking after his car broke down. He spent several months in the hospital, was in a coma, and suffered a traumatic brain injury. This whole experience really turned all our lives upside down but one exciting thing that happened as a result is The Birdie Initiative was born. Our inaugural golf tournament was held in August 2025 and was a great success. The success of the tournament led to a natural evolution of The Birdie Initiative to become a 501(c)3 non-profit organization where all our proceeds can support additional patients who with traumatic brain injuries.

One of the hospitals Brian spent time in and still goes to for outpatient therapy was Craig Hospital in Englewood. They are a non-profit hospital that specializes in brain injury and only treats patients with brain injury and/or spinal cord injuries. Craig Hospital will be who receives the proceeds from the golf tournament this year.
